This 12 foot tall monolith reimagines the scarecrow as a safe haven for birds. Sheltered openings provide local birds with entry to different sized spaces inside. The birdhouse towers over the surrounding landscape, an eye catcher for birds and humans alike.

I designed and built this birdhouse in collaboration with artist Jimenez Lai. It is built entirely of ipe and weighs over one ton.
